About

Photography allows me to make art and encourage self-expression. I have always enjoyed the moodier side of photography with deep shadows and dramatic hues. Most of all though, photography has become a potent tool to connect with people and build community. During a photoshoot with me, we’ll play your favorite music and get creative together. Photography is always a collaboration. I work with my clients to find where and how they feel most in their element and capture the magic that occurs in that place. I am in my element when I am adventuring in nature with my wife and my pup.

Outside of photography, I’ve been working in the outdoors for nearly a decade. I recently graduated with my Masters in Clinical Social Work, guided by my passion for social justice. As a queer Indigenous Lantinx person, I don’t often see myself or my values represented by the outdoor industry. This industry commonly portrays a wilderness that is not accessible to folks with marginalized identities. I want to approach photography with cultural humility in order to increase the accessibility of outdoor adventuring. With my own photos, gear reviews, and outdoor tips, I hope to encourage folks to get outside and connect with nature. We are incredibly lucky to have so many places to explore in the bay area!

I’m looking to work with non-profits that empower people with marginalized identities in a variety of ways. This could look like taking headshots for people of color who are building out their professional profiles such as LinkedIn. I’d also love to work with brands to diversify their representation in authentic and non-tokenizing ways.
